![Zanzibar wasn’t even on our radar as we planned our Safari trip but when I stumbled upon the island during my research, I knew we had to add a stop there. The blend of African, Indian, European, and Middle Eastern influences makes this location truly one of a kind and seeing a glimpse of Zanzibar’s history in person actually inspired us to go back to our hotel and watch YouTube videos just to learn more about it. This is why I believe in the saying “Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer” - it can take you from knowing nothing about a place to developing genuine curiosity and leaving with insights that stick you long after a trip ends. 🏝️

![Many eastern cultures have the concept of “Evil Eye” which is believed to bring misfortune, illness, setbacks, etc. When our trip had a turbulent start with the travel agency booking the wrong dates and our car breaking down, I knew it was time to pull out the big guns and get rid of any negative energy fast. 🙅🏽♀️ There are various different rituals and protective measures for removing negative energy but the best we could come up with on the road was stealing the salt packets from our lunches - Say what you will but I swear our luck turned around after!! 🤨 If you believe in evil eye, what rituals do you use to remove it? 🧿
